Jim Kelly Collection, 1939-1948.

The Jim Kelly Collection contains materials documenting Kelly's trip from Fairbanks, Alaska, south along the Alaska Highway in September 1947. It includes maps, regulations for travel on the Canadian section of the highway, two Alaska license plates, and 18 well-identified photographs. Also found in the collection are a letter to Kelly from Charles Bunnell and a 1941 hand-made recruitment poster for the National Guard (Company C, Fairbanks, 297th Infantry) that had been posted on the University of Alaska campus in Fairbanks. All items are accompanied by explanatory notes from Kelly.
